Peter HolstenPresident
Peter Holsten Since 1975, Peter has led the Holsten team of companies, including the real estate development, property management, and construction entities. Originally founded in 1975, the real estate company has grown to develop over 5,000 housing units with total development costs in excess of $500 million. Beginning with one 16-unit apartment building on Chicago's North Side, the company has grown to develop large sites with increasingly complex financing structures.

Peter is active in numerous civic organizations and is currently a member the Edgewater-Uptown Builders Association and the City of Chicago Affordable Housing Task Force. He also serves on Fannie Mae's Advisory Board that addresses homeownership opportunities for low-income households. Peter is a licensed real estate broker.

Peter received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

Matthew RoddyExecutive Vice President
Matthew Roddy Matthew joined the company in 1984. He provides executive oversight of the company's functions, leads the property management company, and supervises the construction of the company's developments. As a General Contractor, Matthew has completed $10 million of rehab work, and as project manager he has directed $280 million in construction activity for Holsten. Since 1997, he has directed Holsten's property management company with responsibility for the company's portfolio properties as well as private and public clients. He has developed expertise in effective management of properties within the context of affordable and mixed income housing. Matthew places special emphasis on intensive training of Holsten's property managers, maximizing the productivity of administrative staff, and careful monitoring of performance. Matthew is a licensed real estate broker.

In addition to his hands-on expertise in property management and construction, Matthew has been responsible for pre-development activities, project marketing, tenant relocation, and community relations. Matthew received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Andreea MarvucicVice President, Finance
Andreea Marvucic Andreea joined Holsten in 1991 and since 1997 she has supervised all aspects of the accounting and financial operations. In addition to managing the corporate finances, Andreea maintains monthly financials and annual budgets for more than 2,000 apartments. She maintains all employee files and supervises employee benefits, such as the 401K program and medical insurance. Andreea has implemented many new control policies and has led corporate training for the property management staff on building cash flow and monthly financial reporting. Andreea also assists Holsten Development with its numerous developments in formation.

Andreea holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Loyola University.

Monique JohnsonVice President, Administration
Monique Johnson Monique joined Holsten in 1992. She is responsible for the administrative management of the portfolio properties and corporate operations. She has particular expertise in affordable housing compliance procedures that include low-income housing tax credits, HOME funds, and real estate tax incentive programs. She has been instrumental in setting up and monitoring corporate policies to maintain compliance within the complex affordable housing program restrictions. She also leads the human resources and office management functions.

Monique received her Bachelor's of Science degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago and has completed many certification courses in affordable housing.

Steve JohnsonVice President, Field Operations
Steve Johnson Steve Johnson started in 1994. In 1997, he was promoted to Vice President. After initial lease-up, Steve directly supervises Holsten's property managers and field staff, including resident managers and janitors. He places particular emphasis on physical maintenance and life safety issues, leasing, tenant concerns, and on-site training of property management staff. Steve has special expertise in managing Holsten's portfolio of properties with low-income and affordability restrictions.

Steve is also the community liaison to the West Garfield Park community and has worked with area residents on community-based hiring and neighborhood issues.

Linda BraceVice President, Development
Linda Brace Linda joined Holsten in 1999 where she has led the development of North Town Village and assembled financing for the redevelopment Hilliard Homes. She has particular expertise in utilizing complex, multi-layered financing with public and private funding participants. Prior to joining Holsten, Linda was vice president of Shorebank Development Corporation, Chicago where in nine years she was responsible for developing over 350 units of affordable rental housing and several for-sale, single-family home developments in Chicago's Austin and South Shore neighborhoods. Linda also completed the first new, multi-family apartment building in Chinatown that used a variety of financing mechanisms.

Linda received a Bachelor's of Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University and a diploma from the University of Grenoble, France. She also served on the board of Women in Planning & Development for several years.

Jackie Taylor HolstenVice President, Human Capital Development
Jackie Taylor Holsten Jackie joined the Holsten team as Vice President of Human Capital Development. Previously, an assistant commissioner with the City's Department of Planning and Development, she oversaw projects on Chicago's Near West Side, which included the University of Illinois South Campus expansion and the Illinois Medical District. Jackie also served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Permit Division in the Chicago Department of Buildings. She has had additional experience in property management, construction, and banking. At Holsten, Jackie spearheads the company's human capital initiatives in resident transition, community building and workforce development.

Jackie earned her bachelor of science degree from Northwestern University and her juris doctor from Loyola University. She is a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois.
