65TH AND YALE

6565 South Yale, Chicago, Illinois

Holsten Rehab breathed new life into this classic foreign consulate building constructed in 1892. New historic windows were installed at a cost of $525,000.

The Yale Apartments is one of Chicago's most significant early apartment buildings and reflects the great growth in real estate development, which typified the city in the 1890s. Rising seven stories, the building is an important "first generation" residential high-rise reflective of the classic Romanesque Revival style popularized by the buildings of Henry H. Richardson. The Yale Apartments also features an interior atrium ringed with galleries, and topped by a glass-and-metal skylight.
