Rehabilitation Cost: $2.5 million (1989-1990)
The building was vacant from 1983 until it was rehabilitated in the early 1990's. The rehabilitation included an upgrade of all mechanical systems, baths, and kitchens, an extensive renovation of the common areas, a new building entry system, exterior tuck-pointing, a new roof, and commercial storefronts. This project was a joint venture with Heartland Alliance of Chicago, with financing resources from LIHTC equity, a bank first mortgage, and a State of Illinois second mortgage.
